What does a Family Celebrant do?
A Family Celebrant creates and delivers personalised ceremonies to mark life’s most meaningful moments — from naming ceremonies and weddings to funerals and memorials. Every word is written uniquely for you, reflecting your story, values, and wishes.
What types of ceremonies do you offer?
I create and lead a wide range of personalised ceremonies including:
Every ceremony is written from scratch, with warmth, respect, and a deep understanding of what matters to you.
Do you offer any additional services?
Yes — alongside my role as a Family Celebrant, I also offer:
Everything I do is rooted in compassion, creativity, and genuine connection.
Are your ceremonies religious?
They can be — or completely non-religious. I create ceremonies that reflect your beliefs and values. Whether you’re spiritual, secular, or somewhere in between, we’ll create something that feels just right.
How far in advance should we book you?
The earlier, the better — especially for weddings and weekends. However, I’ll always do my best to accommodate short-notice bookings, especially for funerals or memorials where time is limited.
Can we include special readings, music, or rituals?
Absolutely! This is your ceremony, and we’ll work together to include whatever is meaningful to you — whether that’s poems, prayers, handfasting, favourite songs, or symbolic rituals.
Do you travel outside of Herefordshire?
Yes — I’m happy to travel across the UK and beyond. Travel fees may apply for ceremonies outside of Herefordshire, but I’ll always provide a clear and personalised quote.
Are you qualified and insured?
Yes, I am a fully trained and insured celebrant with a background in public speaking, creative writing, and over 25 years of experience in the corporate and community world. I also hold a full, clear Enhanced DBS Check, giving peace of mind when working with children and vulnerable adults.
What if we’re not sure what we want?
No problem at all. Whether you have a clear vision or no idea where to start, I’ll guide you gently through the process — listening, suggesting, and shaping a ceremony that truly reflects your story.
